Music for me gets ruined when people try to label the artist and lump them in to a larger group with all the sterotypical traits of the group they were lumped with.

My favorite band, La Dispute (well one of my many favorites) when first listening people tend to lump them with "scremo" or heavy metal, and really La Dispute couldnt be farther from metal or scremo. Just because of the vocals which are sometimes the singer Jordon barking and screaming the very emotional and powerful lyrics.
