I have a bunch of sites including 4 blogs. The nonblog sites make enough money from Adsense to pay the cost of hosting 20+ sites, 2 dedicated IP addresses and my DSL access. They do that without cutting into my own personal sales through any of the sites.
The click through rate on the blogs is horrible, less than 1/10th what it is on the other sites. I took Adsense off my political blog to make room for other content 'above the fold'. (There's no point in Adsense below the fold - even on the good sites, the CTR for below the fold conten is dismal - about as good as on the blog sites.) Unless your blog has keywords that have extremely high value, the extremely low CTR makes Adsense less useful, in my opinion, for blog sites. On the other hand, my experience with Adsense overall has been excellent and if someone can figure out how to get more clicks out of blog readers let me know.
I have checked out almost all the affiliates and banner click sites which claim to pay you. Including google adsense.
The minute you start earning more cash than they cancel your account.

Its too bad Google doesn't pay out on $20 dollars for AdSense, rather then $100 dollars. That would be a lot easier for many of us to attain I bet. Though Google would of course have larger expenses, cause its a easier number to hit.

I've found that the Adsense on my blog varies a lot, maybe due to what I'm writing but typically it is very small scale compared to other sites I have.
Personally, I wouldn't even bother creating an Adsense account for just a blog site unless your traffic levels are very, very high.
hehe, i just received my first cheque from adsense..
AdSense, albeit slow, is working for me. It took me almost 5 months to get my first check, but I've made over $200 in just the last 6 weeks. I actually started optimizing my sites AdSense placements after I got my first check and that has made all the difference in the world.

[B]Wonderful comment. True. Making money on AD Sense is only of value when you got some huge monthly clicks BUT it sure gives some value to the BLOG regardless. It is amazing at the ADS placed by Google and sometimes the links are truly fun and valuable. Never know. The real value may be the association and the learning curve gained. I love it either way. I love my adsense. At one point when ranking #5 on msn for my keyword i was making 125 every 2 weeks. Right now msn had a shift and im bumped off the serps, but jump to #10 on yahoo. Right now I'm averaging only 20 to 25 dollars a week for 2 blogs that average together probably around 150 to 225 hits a day. MY taco bell blog is in the top 10 on msn and yahoo and gets quite a few hits. I will be looking into my 3rd blog, which will be aiming at a higher pay per click than the 3 to 50 cent clicks i get now. People may also look into pay per impression websites. I use AdBrite and earn about 20$/month. The point is my blog is just started and does not have a lot of traffic (~500 hits/days). I am inscreasing the traffic and expect more revenue!

1. Adbrite is something like adsense, but it choose the ad for your site rather than automatically match the content

I am also on the same situation. Slowly but surely, I get my $10 to $20 per day, and this is a good start. Just be serious, regulary add new stories and try to link as soon as you can. Good luck to all of you.

I bought this awesome ebook that showed me some tricks. Is not alot but I have a average of $100 a month doing nothing just from adsense but I have more than 6 blogs and it's only been 4 months.:)

I have been making money using Blogsvertise. Admittedly it is controversial to write about web sites as blog entries but if you use discretion it is a great way to make money.

$2 per day is good amount, specially for 10 day old blog, how many unqiues you are getting per day.
I haven't made any money from Adsense. The clicks are very sporadic, and I think this is something to do with the type of ads Adsense put up - some are wildly inappropriate! I've no idea how they came up with those ads based on the content. eg I did one political post on demographics and how this affects economies, and the ad came up asking people if they wanted to get their birth certificates online! Ah well.
I'm concerned to hear from those who think Adsense cancel your account as soon as you make money. Is this true?
i have been making about $5-10 per day and my blog is only 2 weeks old.
Of course it depends on the content which is super. I write fresh content and keep the readers on the toes.
just starting out blogging and loaded a bunch of google adsense and adsense referer ad. So, far no earning yet. Hope to see the money come in soon.
