Be patient, traffic doesn’t happen overnight. The best way that I’ve found to increase traffic is by getting to know people. Spend what free time that you have, reading blogs, leaving feedback and building friendships. Try to leave comments on the blogs that you visit as often as you can. Eventually you’ll build a network of not just readers, but friends and loyal supporters. Blogging is not just about marketing; it’s about creating lasting relationships.

I noticed that once I joined webrings that had other blogs related to mine and carnivals more people came to my blog.
It also helps to comment on other people's blogs and if they are nice enough they will return the favor.

What I've done in order to receive more traffic is to join several social networking sites such as:
Stumble Upon
Blog Catalog
Criteo
Spicy Page
Google these names and you'll be able to find them.
Good luck to you and you'll see - you'll not only have lots of readers yourself but have a great opportunity to read others' blogs as well. :)

You could also try places like despair.nu which you sign up for an recieve a list of 3 sites every few days and you must comment on them.
The plus side to this is that 3 new people see your link and also 3 people must comment on your blog so 6 people are seeing your site and hopefully sticking around.

Yes they are all right. I am also 2 months old blogger and its not easy to gain a lot of traffic but i learn a lot when i visited my friends blog and visit also blog of people even i did not know them. So try to visit other`s blog and they will also visit yours.

Yes, your posts quality and even your blog category are important factors in gaining traffic. But don't worry, we have the same problem but I'm trying to be as patient as I can. You might want to create an account to monitor your traffic. Try Google Analytics. The "keywords" results help me in deciding which topic to post. Goodluck!

i agree with "have fun blogging" and try social network sites there are so many now on the web thats where you can get real people to visit your blog....there are plenty like mylot, yuwie, stumble upon, myface, myspace etc etc you can make friends and then exchange links which brings in quality traffic......all the best and happy blogging :)
It really is difficult to get traffic.
And i also read if you blogging simply to earn money you will fail.
At first that was what i attempt to do, but now after a hard reality check,
i need to blogging because to fill up time so i can blog something i like instead thinking when money will rolling in.
Well, have fun blogging is maybe the most important piece of advice. If you like what you blog about, you won't get bored if you see money don't come quick. The main idea is: have a source of money and blog just as a hobby.
If you have time to blog dauily and promote your blog in an intensive, smar manner, trafic will come, so money will start coming. How many daily/weekly vistors you get so far ?

You first have to have great content if you want anyone to read and return to your blog.
All the other posts have great ideas...put them to use.
You can get a great free blogging course at simpleology (search for it on the search engines)
It certainly helped me improve my blog writing and my traffic.
Now how is ur blog traffic? I hope u have got many good suggestions.....
Indeed, it would be interesting to see how we all evolved since the first posts here. As for me, I haven't had too much time for blogging, but I still post regularly and today just got a small boost in the visitors number on my Dracula related blog.
