New To Blogging, How much content does a blog need before going public?

Hello everyone, My name Josh and i have started my first blog. It is a food blog and I am enjoying it very much. However, i am struggling a bit with the decision on whether or not to go public with it yet. So i pose the question, how much content does a blog need to have before you set it free in the world? Or, is there and upside to going full blast right from the beginning and letting the readers enjoy the growth of the blog as well? I am excited to hear everyone's thoughts on this topic! Hey Josh, release your blog to the world. As Themommylady85 said, quality over quantity. Of course, the more content you produce, the more Google will see your blog as topically authoritative (if you are blogging about one topic or a set of closely related topics), but there is no prerequisite to quantity.

Your blog is public immediately. But if you're asking how much content it needs to start promoting, not much but enough to engage your audience and keep them there.

What you will have to do is create 3 thoroughly written post about your niche (unlike the animal niche in the blogging world a niche is what you write about)

This type of content is known as pillar content.

Then your blog is ready for the world.

I believe everything depends on your perception. There is no general rule and if there is, rules are meant to be broken. When you are a new blog, focus your writing on your audience desire and do a deep research to get the best content out there.

Be consistent with your writing schedule and engage with words when talking to your audience.

But if you are particular on the quantity of post, I'll say 5 if enough

New to blogging as well! I think it's less about how many but quality.
I follow super successful blogs with only 60 posts in 2 years so that tells you a lot!

Have a look at your competitors, and analyze their content. Ahrefs YouTube channel is very helpful

blogging is important for your website so as the content is.The quality of content is very important if your website is very new. Inorder to bring your website at the top of search engine rankings, a minimum of 2000 words are needed (this is my personal experience as my website is also very new).If it is 10 k words blog, your website will rank no:1 , if it meets quality perspective too.

I say go man ... but alert your readers to keep checking for updates ... and don't disappoint them

Completely agree, quality over quantity. Topically dependent too. But focus on high quality, circa 1500 word blog posts. You won't need many, then it's all about driving the traffic to the site. :)

3 good original quality content is better than 100 scraped content. If you can create at least 500 plus words article with images and videos then it will be awesome. Also, don't forget the social media sharing buttons. And if you are planning to monetize it later, a good research on keyword or tag will go a long way.

The important thing about blogging is consistency in updating your blog with new content. Therefore i advise you to go public immediately however you should share new content consistent ly.

There is no required number of posts. It all depends on the type of content you plan to publish. Don't post something just to get airplay. Let it be one post a week or a month, but of high quality.

My thoughts - There are two different types of blogs, one is short and another is in detail. The latter is somewhat a view, and guide and includes various sub-topics of a topic and is been discussed in detail. Whereas short blogs consist of an answer and list points of a single topic. The limitation of the word or character counts is very much flexible but in my opinion, I do recommend having at least 800 words found for the detail blogs. The short one can prevail in 300 words but should be answering the topic before going public.
I have experience in both kinds of writing and have been writing technology blogs on various platforms related to healthcare including telemedicine app development, DevOps, cloud technology, software, and various applications.

IMO, to ensure that people have something to read right away, publish 3-5 posts before launching :)
